- Who is Minerva, by the way? Minerva was the Roman name of Greek goddess Athena. She was considered to be the virgin goddess of warriors, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, crafts, and the inventor of music. Probably would have made a great librarian! Matter of fact her statue guarded the door of the university library where I got my MLS!
